Odisha Cabinet approves 12 proposals: Key highlights

Among the approvals are hike in grant-in-aid to eligible employees of aided non-government colleges which includes erstwhile junior colleges in the State and will benefit around 15,711 teachers and employees.

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government approved 12 key proposals at a Cabinet meeting here today.

Among the approvals are hike in grant-in-aid to eligible employees of aided non-government colleges which includes erstwhile junior colleges in the State and will benefit around 15,711 teachers and employees. Other 11 key proposals which received the Cabinet nod are as follows:

1.) Amendment of Odisha Employment Service Class-II Rules, 1990 in order to fill up vacant posts of employment officer in employment exchanges of the State.

2.) Framing up of the Odisha Data Entry Operators (Commercial Tax and Goods and Services Tax Organisation) Service Conditions Rules, 2023 in compliance to High Court order passed in 2020 wherein service of DEOs shall remain under administrative control of Commissionerate of CT and GST (Odisha), Cuttack. The Commissioner of CT and GST Odisha shall act as disciplinary authority and all DEOs shall be transferred or posted with his prior approval.

3.)Framing of Odisha Food Testing Laboratory Cadre (Methods of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Amendment Rules, 2022 to regulate the method of recruitment of service of the person appointed to the different posts of the State Food Testing Laboratory, Bhubaneswar. The Odisha Staff Selection Commission will conduct recruitment for the posts of Junior Laboratory Assistant by observing Government rules and guidelines.

4.)Approval of proposal for allotment of land to an extent of 2 acre in favour of Bagchi-Sri Shankara Cancer Care Centre and Research Institute (BSSCCRI) for construction of rest house for accommodation of cancer patients. This will help cancer patients avail stay at affordable prices for a longer period of their treatment. The land will be free of premium and at Chandihata under Jatani Tehsil in Khurda district.

5.) Execution of two mega piped water supply projects to provide safe drinking water in Jajpur out of JJM funding. This is likely to benefit around 2,50,797 people in 250 villages in two blocks of the district. The government has approved a tender of Rs 254.66 crore for execution of the work with a deadline of 2 years.

6.) Execution of 3 mega piped water supply projects out of JJM funding in Nayagarh district at acost of Rs 393.93 crore.

7.) Execution of 4 mega piped water supply projects out of JJM funding in Malkangiri district at Rs 639.26 crore.

8. )Amendment of Orissa Superior Judicial Service and Orissa Judicial Service Rules, 2007.

9.) Approval of the proposed amendment of Odisha State Commission for Backward Classes in the State list of SEBCs by inserting subsection 3 under section 9, which enables the State government to include such backward classes  if they have been specified in the central list of OBCs in the State.

10.)Amendment of five cadre rules of Mineral Administration Wing, Geological Survey and Exploration Wing and Chemical Analysis Wing under the newly created Directorate of Mines and Geology.  These shall facilitate administrative convenience and strengthen technical human resources at the Directorate.

11.) Construction of H.L. bridge over Subarnarekha bridge at Gobarghata on Jaleswar old NH bypass road to DP Pur Primary School Chhak in Balasore district  under the State Plan.
