Odisha Cabinet approves transformation of VSSUT with expenditure of Rs 2000 crore

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet today approved a proposal for the transformation of Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) with an expenditure of Rs 2000 crore.

A meeting of the cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik approved a total of 18 proposals.

“Implementation of the institute development plan for transformation of the VSSUT, Burla with an outlay of Rs 2000 crore will broaden the horizon and give an impetus to multi-disciplinary teaching and research. This will also help in introducing new generation industry oriented and employment linked courses. Moreover, this will expand the scope for opening different schools to deliver multi and interdisciplinary courses,” the government said in a press release.

“It will also enable the university to have better access to academic resources and intellectual capital worldwide. This will facilitate the university to have a strong focus on research and introduce doctoral and post-doctoral programmes,” the release added.
