The seized materials include a laptop that was used to edit the scenes post shoot, two mobile phones used to shoot, SD cards, camera etc.

The materials will be examined to verify the data available with the cops and explore other confidential angles that police sources did not reveal. A senior officer, however, confirmed that the cops have found strong evidence of casting couch from his studio and home even though some of the evidence was destroyed and tampered with by his brother Tubun after his arrest.

“This was the first case to come to the cops. But he had been blackmailing several others as well after shooting their nude videos. Some of his close aides are also involved. His brother managed to destroy some of the evidence following his arrest, but we have managed to seize strong evidence from his house and studio,” said the police officer who is part of the investigating team.

An aspiring actress from Deogarh had earlier alleged that Lubun had shot her naked pictures after spiking her soft drink. Later he blackmailed her using these pictures and forced her to give him some gold jewellery.

Based on the complaint, the police had lodged a case as per section 420, 386, 354 (3), 294, 506, 507 and IT Act and arrested him. The court has denied the bail plea moved by his younger brother Tubun and he has been lodged in jail.

Odisha police, on the other hand, has formed a special police team to investigate this case and keep a tab over similar cases elsewhere.
