Odisha CB to probe Kalahandi minor girl torching case

The Odisha Crime Branch has taken charge of investigation into the torching of a minor girl allegedly by two youths at Madhupur village in Kalahandi district.

A four-member team led by a lady inspector will probe into the incident after reaching Narla in the district.

Police had yesterday arrested six persons in the case including two prime accused. One of the accused who is a minor was produced before the Juvenile Justice board, while others were forwarded to sessions court and later sent to judicial custody as their bail pleas were rejected.

Notably, the girl was allegedly set on fire by Bulu Das and a minor boy of the village after they failed to gang rape her.

The two had earlier passed vulgar comments at the girl following which she told the incident to her family members.

Getting furious over the girl’s move, the duo allegedly torched her at her house in the absence of her parents.
