Odisha changes timings for Covid vaccination in view of heat wave condition

Bhubaneswar: Keeping in view the heat wave condition in Odisha, the State government today changed timings for Covid-19 vaccination at all centres with immediate effect.

Additional Chief Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Department, PK Mohapatra, in a letter, directed District Collectors and Magistrates, Municipal Commissioners and health officials to conduct Covid-19 vaccination sessions at all sites between 8 AM to 12 noon and 3 PM to 6 PM.

The letter further directed the district administrations, municipal commissioners and health officials to ensure arrangements like waiting space, observation room and vaccination room and drinking water facility in place at the session. Also, the Covid appropriate behavior like use of mask, hand washing facility and social distancing must be ensured at the session sites, it read.

The Additional Chief Secretary added efforts should be made for thorough awareness among the community and mobilization of beneficiaries to achieve daily target fixed for each district.

Also, the district administrations and municipal commissioners were asked to submit the district report by 6.30 PM every day.
