Odisha chit fund scam: 1660 small investors in Astha International identified

Cuttack: Justice Madan Mohan Das Commission probing the multi-crore chit fund scam in Odisha identified 1660 investors in Astha International in fourth phase after verifying the affidavits.

The Commission will submit its next report to the government mentioning about the small victims in Astha International, sources said.

Currently, Astha International’s Odisha chief Subhransu Lenka, CMD Santosh Kisan and MD C Shivaji Chouhan are lodged in Jharpada jail in Bhubaneswar for duping the depositors alluring them of getting high returns.

Besides, the small depositors of other chit fund firms including Alchemist Holdings Limited, Future Secure Agro Limited, Basundhara Green Power Limited and Adarsh Multipurpose Co-operative Limited were also identified.

However, the officials of these chit fund firms had not appeared before the Commission despite repeated notice.
