According to reports, the Ponzi firm CMD has been admitted to the premier government-run referral hospital for physiotherapy treatment and psychiatric counseling.

For this, four policemen including an ASI have been assigned to have a watch on Sethi.

During the period of hospitalization for around 5-6 days, he would undergo physiotherapy and psychiatric tests.

On August 2, Sethi had written to ADG (Prisons) Arun Kumar Ray alleging negligence by jail authorities in providing medical care and delay in production before court. He had written to the top police official two days after he allegedly attempted suicide inside the jail.

On the same day, the Laxmisagar police lodged two cases against Sethi based on complaing filed by jail authorities in connection with the suicide bid. Police had registered two cases against the Ponzi firm head under Sections 309 (attempt to suicide) and 186 (Obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions) of IPC.

Notably, Sethi has been on judicial remand since May 2013 after he was arrested by the Crime Branch. The CBI took over the investigation in May 2014 following Supreme Court order. The CBI has already submitted two chargesheets against Sethi and others in the Rs1200-crore scam.
