Addressing a media briefing, Odisha BJP Vice President Samir Mohanty shot a barrage of questions towards the ruling party of the state and accused an unnamed BJD MLA of having links with the company.

“A ruling party MLA from Cuttack attempted to arrange for a rented accommodation in Mancheswar for Rose Valley chief Goutam Kundu when he was here to launch a media house. Who is he? Besides, a BJD minister facilitated a meeting of Kundu with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. Will the Chief Minister name him,” questioned Mohanty.

“BJD and TMC have an unannounced alliance to support each other. BJD has even agreed to lend its manpower for a TMC rally scheduled for January 10,” he added.

Going a step ahead, Congress Cuttack unit chief Mohammed Moquim named Debashish Samantaray to be the Cuttack MLA with links with Rose Valley group.

“MLA Debashish Samantaray was involved with Astha chit fund company. A Mercedes car has been registered in his driver’s name. Attempts were made to cover up the issue back then. He also has links with Rose Valley group. We demand CBI to include him in its investigation,” said Moquim.

Samantaray, however, dismissed the allegation levelled by both parties.

“The BJP is in a tough spot following demonetisation. They are not in a position to go to the public. These are their attempts to show that their political existence. So far as Moquim is concerned, he is a criminal. He has been linked with a Rs 200 crore scam and his passport has been impounded by the High Court. Let him furnish the evidence, if he has any,” said Samantaray.
