Odisha chit fund scam: CBI arrests 3 top honchos of Nabadiganta

Bhubaneswar, Oct 26:
Chairman cum Managing Director (CMD) of Nabadiganta Capital Services Anjan Kumar Baliarsingh and two directors of the company – Kartikeya Parida and Pradeep Patnaik – were today arrested by the CBI, which is probing the multi thousand crore chit fund scam in Odisha under orders from the Supreme Court.

They were arrested after sustained interrogation at the CBI office here since morning. The CBI interrogated them today for the second time in three days.
All three were taken to the Capital Hospital here for a medical check up after which they would be produced in the court, CBI sources said.
However, there was no word on whether any of the three politicians, who were once directors of the company and were also questioned by the CBI today – Mayurbhanj MP Ramchandra Hansda, former BJD MLA from Keonjhar Subarna Nayak and former BJP MLA from Nuapada Hitesh Bagarti – would also be taken into custody by the central agency.
Intriguing how are the politicians who have been interrogated by the agency are still scot free……the evidence in the media tells me they should be taken into custody…so why is CBI chickening out.
