Odisha chit fund scam: CBI grills city ad agency owner

The CBI today grilled the proprietor of an advertising agency located in Laxmisagar area of the city today about the agency’s dubious links with the Seashore group, a major player in the Odisha chit fund scam.

Sangeeta Lal, proprietor of Subhashree Commumication, an agency dealing with event management, newspaper publishing and advertising, was grilled for more than seven hours by the CBI officials. She entered the CBI office at around 11 am and left at 7 pm in the evening.

Lal did not respond to questions by media persons on her way out of the CBI office.

CBI sources said she was called for interrogation about the money transactions of her company with the Seashore group. Subhashree Communication had received about Rs 10 crore from Seashore for advertisement promotions, the sources said.
