CHIT FUND SCAM“Efforts are on to ascertain the facts on collection of money by these leaders on behalf of these chit fund companies. Basing on the evidence during the raids on the houses of these leaders and the concerned chit fund companies, these leaders would be interrogated”, said a senior CBI official.

Meanwhile, CBI officials on Friday raided the house of Kartikeya Parida, director of Nabadiganta Capital Services Limited (NCSL) at Naharakanta on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar and seized incriminating documents.

Investigation is on to ascertain the investment of money by the persons concerned and how much money the company has swindled. It may be mentioned that the NSCL was registered in August, 2011 with an authorized capital of Rs 5 crore. Several people had purchased shares worth Rs 2.29 crore of which former Keonjhar MLA Subarna Nayak, director of the company, had invested Rs 60,000.

The company later had opened three branches—Nabadiganta Properties, Nabadiganga Projects Ltd and Nabadiganga Agro—in the state in the last three years of which Nabadiganga Agro was registered in 2012.
