Odisha chit fund scam: CBI raids Astha Group offices

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today conducted simultaneous raids at the offices of the Ponzi firm Astha Group in 14 places across the country including Odisha.
Astha Group offices were raided in four places in Odisha including Jagatsinghpur, Angul and Bhubaneswar, CBI sources said.
Similarly, the Ponzi firm’s offices at Surat, Goa, Indore and Jabalpur have been raided, the sources added.
Sources said the rented residence of Astha Group chief Subhranshu Lenka in the Nageswar Tangi area of the Odisha capital was also raided by the CBI.
Subhranshu and three of his business associates are currently in lodged in jail for duping depositors of their hard-earned money.
Raids were continuing at the time of filing of the report.
