The special CBI court here today allowed the CBI, which is probing the mega chit fund scam in Odisha, to take former managing director of Microfinance Ltd Durga Prasad Mishra on an additional three day remand.
Mishra was produced before the special CBI court after his six-day remand by the CBI ended today. Mishra is accused of defrauding thousands of small depositors of their deposits.
Mishra, who had gone into hiding since March, was arrested by the CBI last week.
Meanwhile, DSP Pramod Panda, who was arrested for his alleged link with the AT group yesterday, was produced before the court today.
Jagabandhu Panda, a former director of the AT group, was also produced in the court today at the end of his nine-day remand.
The CBI has sought to take Pramod Panda on a seven-day remand besides an extension of Jagabandhu Panda’s remand by another five days.
