Odisha chit fund scam: M M Das panel submits fourth interim report

Bhubaneswar: Justice M M Das Commission of Inquiry probing the multi-crore mega chit fund scam in Odisha today submitted its fourth interim report to the State government.

The Commission’s Secretary presented the interim report to the State Home Secretary in the afternoon today.

According to sources privy to the report, the Commission has identified 55,563 small depositors, out of which 10,037 are depositors of Flourish India, 6,497 of Seashore Group, 3,798 of Sarada Group and 2,310 of Artha Tatwa (AT) Group.

The Commission identified small depositors after examining 1, 38,388 affidavits by depositors of as many as 342 companies, the sources revealed.

It may be mentioned here that the Commission in its third interim report in July last year had identified 41,519 small investors after registering cases against 176 companies and conducting inquiry thereupon.
