Nayak was sent on 10-day judicial custody by the court yesterday.

Nayak was arrested on November 18 hours after his residence at Chandrama Apartments in Kharavela Nagar here was raided.

Diaries seized during the raid have proved to be a veritable Pandora’s Box.  They showed how Nayak was liaising with top bureaucrats and politicians swinging deals on behalf of the Seashore group of companies.

They also contained a list of officials paid off by him for favours granted or expected.

Based on the information contained in the diaries. the CBI has already interrogated two senior IPS officers: west-central range DIG Rajesh Kumar and Kendarapara SP Satish Gajbhiye.
