Odisha CM announces Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia for Deogarh accident victims

Expressing grief over yesterday’s tragic incident which claimed 27 lives in Deogarh district, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to the next to the kin of the deceased.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced the compensation amount from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF). Besides, Patnaik also announced free treatment for the injured who are undergoing treatment at Deogarh district headquarters hospital and VSS Institute of Medical Science and Research (VIMSAR).

Chief minister offered condolences to the bereaved and prayed for speedy recovery of the injured.

Meanwhile, Eastern Opera—one of the largest theatre houses in Odisha– also announced compensation to the kin of the deceased and injured.

Eastern Opera promoter and CMD of Eastern Media Ltd Soumyaranjan Patnaik announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh today.
