Odisha CM assigns Nabakalebara work to senior officials

To ensure timely completion of infrastructure development work for the ensuing Nabakalebara festival scheduled in Odisha’s Puri town in June this year, chief minister Naveen Patnaik today asked senior officials to supervise and monitor the progress of work.

Presiding over a meeting on the progress and status of the ongoing works for Nabakalebara at the State Secretariat here, the chief minister asked chief secretary GC Pati to supervise and monitor the ongoing construction of roads, bridges and rail tracks.

He also asked AP Padhi, additional chief secretary to chief minister, to remain in charge of security, administration of Sri Jagannath temple and traffic management in Puri town.

While Development Commissioner UN Behera was given the charge of health, sanitation and underground sewerage works, additional chief secretary, Finance, R Balakrishnan was asked to take charge of tourism, brand promotion and documentation.

The chief minister asked these officials to ensure quality work in the construction of new infrastructure and report about the status and progress of the works every fortnight.
