Odisha CM condemns attack on Amarnath pilgrims

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik this evening condemned the attack on Amarnath pilgrims by terrorists in the Valley that claimed at least seven lives and injured 14 persons.

“Strongly condemn horrific attack on Amarnath Yatra pilgrims by terrorists at Anantnag. Such dastardly act should not go unpunished,” Naveen Patnaik tweeted.

Odisha unit Congress also condemned the attack on the Yatra pilgrims.

We strongly condemn the terror attack on the pilgrims of Amarnath Yatra. Deep condolences to the bereaved families of those killed, the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee tweeted.

Notably, seven Amarnath pilgrims were killed and 14 others injured, including policemen, today when a bus carrying pilgrims was caught in a crossfire between militants and a police party in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantang district.

The bus was carrying pilgrims back from Baltal after performing the yatra.
