Odisha CM condoles death of Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik condoled the death of Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, who passed away at his private residence on Sunday evening after a prolonged battle with pancreatic cancer.

Though there has been no announcement made from the Chief Minister’s Office. The CM’s tweet is the only official communication on Mr. Parrikar’s passing.

“Deeply saddened by news of the passing away of former Defence Minister of India & Chief Minister, Goa #ManoharParrikar. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends & followers. May his soul rest in peace,” Naveen wrote.

Other leaders in the State, cutting across party lines, mourned his death.

A widower, Parrikar, 63, is survived by his two sons, Utpal and Abhijat, their wives and a grandson.

He had undergone treatment in hospitals of the US and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi.
