Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik arrives in Japan, to meet Nippon Steel President today

Bhubaneswar: A high-level delegation led by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has arrived in Japan to promote investment opportunities in the state.

Today, the Chief Minister will hold one-to-one meeting with Eiji Hashimoto, Representative Director and President of Nippon Steel Corporation (NSC), to discuss potential collaboration opportunities between NSC and the Government of Odisha.

On April 5, the Odisha Business Meet 2023 will take place at The Okura Tokyo, which will be attended by over 200 industrialists, businesspersons, and investors from across Japan and the Indo-Pacific Region.

The CM will present the existing and emerging business opportunities in Odisha to the investors. In the evening, he will meet the Odia Diaspora in Japan.

On April 6, the state delegation will visit the Kimitsu Steel Works and the R&D center of Nippon Steel Corporation.

After arriving in Tokyo, Patnaik expressed his confidence that the visit would strengthen the relationship between Japan and Odisha and offer a chance for both sides to explore mutual interests.

He conveyed his appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by the Japanese government and people towards the delegation and hoped that the visit would contribute towards strengthening cultural ties between the two nations.

The Chief Minister and the state delegation’s visit to Japan is a significant step towards promoting Odisha as a favored investment destination and fostering closer ties between Japan and Odisha.
