Odisha CM pays last respect to Lulu Mohapatra

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today paid his last respect to Congress leader Lalatendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra aka Lulu Mohapatra who passed away on Sunday night.

Patnaik went to Mohapatra’s government quarters here and paid floral tributes to the departed soul.

Later in the day, Mohapatra’s body was taken to the State Assembly and given guard of honour. Leaders cutting across party lines paid their last homage to Mohapatra.

The leader’s mortal remains was then taken to Congress Bhawan here where Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Prasad Harichandan and other party leaders paid last respect to Mohapatra.

The cortege would be taken to his native place Gadarodang in Puri district today where the last rites would be performed.

Notably, the senior leader and youth icon breathed his last at Gurugram-based Medanta Hospital at around 10.15 pm Sunday night. He was undergoing treatment at the hospital for liver cirrhosis.
