Odisha CM presents Smart Policing awards to Commissionerate Police

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today presented the Smart policing awards to DGP KB Singh.

The Smart Policing Awards were earlier received by the Commissionerate Police last Thursday from Union Minister of State, Home Affairs HP Choudhury in New Delhi. The award was handed over to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik by Police Commissioner YB Khurania at state secretariat today.

The Smart police awards for best policing practices in India have been instituted by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI). The Odisha police have got two awards, one for recognition of various steps taken by the Commissionerate police in the twin cities for the security of senior citizens and another for enhancing security of women in the year 2014-15.

Appreciating the efforts of the Commissionerate police, the Chief Minister advised for continued efforts towards safety and security of citizens with better and smart policing. This was an outcome of fine team work of the Commissioner police officers filled with a high sense of commitment and dedication to their duty, said Commissioner YB Khurania.

DGP KB Singh, Police Commissioner YB Khurania, Director Vigilance RP Sharma and other senior police officers were present on the occasion.
