Odisha CM reviews developmental works in Sambalpur

Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik today took stock of ongoing developmental works in Sambalpur town.

Presiding over a review meeting here, the chief minister was apprised of the progress in several developmental works to the tune of Rs 400 crore being undertaken by the Works, Housing and Urban Development, Water Resources, Tourism, Transport and Sports and Youth Affairs departments.

The meeting had a detailed discussion on several ongoing projects, including a second bridge over Mahanadi, Sambalpur-Khetrajpur road, town flyover, outer ring road, rind road at Burla, sports complex, truck and bus terminus, improvement in pipe water supply to 26 villages brought under the jurisdiction of Burla and Hirakud civic bodies and Sambalpur Municipal Corporation, solid waste management, drainage of rainwater, integrated underground sewerage, mechanised cleaning of roads and drains, planetarium, a river front entertainment at Hirakud and construction of parks at several localities of the town.

While directing the concerned authorities to expedite the aforesaid works, the chief minister said he would review the work status in the next quarterly meeting in November.

Among others, Sambalpur MP Nagendra Pradhan, Redhakhol MLA Rohit Pujari, Rengali MLA Ramesh Chandra Patua, Development Commissioner Aditya Prasad Padhi, additional chief secretary, Finance UN Behera, principal secretaries and secretaries of concerned department and Sambalpur collector Balwant Singh were present at the meeting.
