Odisha CM sanctions additional Rs 1000 cr for BASUDHA scheme

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today sanctioned an additional amount of Rs 1000 crore to augment drinking water supply in rural areas under the Buxi Jagabandhu Assured Water Supply to Habitations (BASUDHA) scheme for 2018-19 financial year.

The scheme already has an existing budgetary allocation of Rs 1000 crore for 2018-19 fiscal. The Chief Minister allocated the additional amount to expedite the BASUDHA projects, official sources said.

A provision of budgetary allocation of the same amount for the yojana has been made for the yojana for the financial year 2019-20.
