Odisha CM’s Twitter followers cross 1 million mark

Bhubaneswar:  Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik achieved yet another milestone on Twitter today as his followers have now crossed one million on the microblogging website.

In order to thank all of his followers on the occasion, Naveen posted a video on his Twitter page saying ‘A Million Thanks’.

“Thanks to each & every one of you. I value your love & affection. Let’s make this relationship stronger & work together for #Odisha & people,” he tweeted.

In August, Naveen’s followers on Twitter crossed 5 lakh.

The CM personally monitors his Twitter handle with the help of a team of tech-savvy officials.

Naveen, who is known for not so media-friendly, had joined the microblogging site on September 09, 2015 with @Naveen_Odisha handle.

His first tweet was“Jai Jagannath…”

Patnaik has the highest number of followers among politicians in Odisha followed by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan with 5.83 lakh, his party’s Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda with 3.09 lakh.

Notably, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had raised questions on the authenticity of Naveen’s popularity in social media and alleged that his twitter account has thousands of fake followers.
