Odisha Congress to hit roads from Nov 20 against economic slowdown

Bhubaneswar: Congress decided to launch its 4-day protest programme in Odisha against economic slowdown from November 20.

“The party will stage protests on November 20, 21 and 22 at all the district headquarters. The demonstration will held on November 24 in Bhubaneswar,” informed Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee chief Niranjan Patnaik today ahead of a meeting with party supremo Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi.

Earlier, the state and district-level protest and demonstration programmes scheduled between Nov 10 and 15 were deferred on account of Ayodhya verdict.

In the wake of judgment by Supreme Court on November 9, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) had postponed its protest programmes in Odisha.

Worth mentioning, Indian National Congress launched its mass agitation in all districts of the country from November 5, which will continue till November 15 against ‘rising unemployment, sinking economy and farm distress’ ahead of Winter Session of Parliament that begins from November 18 and will conclude on December 13.
