Odisha cop, family members held for barging into Srimandir

Puri: Even though the Odisha government is leaving no stones unturned to ensure deadly COVID-19 does not spread in the State further, a police official was today evening detained at Singha Dwara police station for allegedly violating lockdown restrictions.

As per reports, the cop, Inspector In-Charge of Barchana police station in Jajpur district Deepak Jena barged into the Sri Jagnnath temple along with his family members. An alert Havildar deployed at the South Gate of the temple resisted the Barchana IIC.

But the IIC issued threatening to the Havildar and barged into the Srimandir through the South Gate despite the fact the temple has been closed for visitors.

Later the Havildar filed a complaint at Singha Dwara police station on basis of which the Barchana IIC along with his family members has been detained by the police.

Worth mentioning, the Srimandir has been closed for visitors in view of the COVID-19 epidemic.
