Odisha cop tests COVID-19 positive; all staff put under home quarantine

Malkangiri: A Havildar of Motu border check post in Malkangiri has tested positive for coronavirus. Intensive contact tracing and followup action is underway, informed district Collector Manish Agarwal today.

After detection of the case, Inspector In-Charge (IIC) along with other staff of Motu Police Station have been instructed to remain under home quarantine. Besides, the district administration has declared the police station as containment zone.

Total, three positive cases were reported from the district in the lat 24 hours. The rest two cases belong to a Temporary Medical Camp (TMC)  in Korukonda Block. While one of them was a inmate with travel history to Tamil Nadu, another patient was working as an attendant at the TMC.

In the district, the total number of positive cases stands at 25, including 21 recoveries, informed the district Collector.
