Bhubaneswar: A journalist, working with an English daily in Odisha capital, has been arrested on charges of sending obscene pictures to a former woman colleague, police sources said today.
The scribe identified as Nirmalya Deb, a resident of West Bengal, was staying in a rented accommodation in Laxmisagar area in the city.
Deb had allegedly sent nude pictures of himself to the woman, following this the latter lodged a complaint with Chandrasekharpur police.
The journo was picked up by the cops from his residence yesterday and he was arrested today after a few hours of grilling.
He was also terminated from his job soon after the woman reported the matter to the media house.
A case, bearing number of 195/18, was resigtered under sections 292, 354 (A), 509,201 of IPC and 67, 67 (A) of IT Act.
Meanwhile, further investigation into the incident is underway.
