Odisha cops arrest Sunki landmine blast accused

Koraput: In a major breakthrough, police today arrested one Madabi Bondi, a Maoist, for his alleged involvement in the landmine blast at Sunki in Odisha’s Koraput district last February in which eight police staff was killed.

The dreaded cadre Maoist who largely operated in neighbouring Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada region was carrying a bounty of Rs 4 lakh on his head.

Bondi after being arrested by the police from an undisclosed location in Koraput district was produced before the Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM)’s Court here, reports said.

He was sent to Koraput District Jail after his bail plea was rejected by the Court, reports added.
