Odisha cops seek transfer of DS brothers to other jail

Odisha police today prayed before a local court here to shift the gangster siblings—Sushil and Sushant Dhalsamanta—to other jail citing security concerns.

Twin City Commissionerate Police today filed a petition in the Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court here seeking transfer of the duo from Choudwar Circle Jail to elsewhere for inadequate security arrangements, sources said.

The police are disgruntled with the security measures and the surveillance system installed inside the jail premises, sources added.

While Sushant is lodged in cell number 2 of ward 3, Sushil is housed in cell number 3 of ward 5 of the Choudwar Circle Jail.

District administration today cancelled the lease of two sand quarries allegedly managed by an associate of the notorious siblings.
