Odisha cops to produce D-brothers in court to seek consent for polygraph test

The arrested Dhalasamanta brothers will be produced at the SDJM court here tomorrow by the Odisha police to obtain their consent to conduct polygraph test on them.

The Twin City Commissionerate Police had moved the SDJM court on Tuesday seeking permission to conduct polygraph test on the notorious brothers. The court today completed the nearing in the matter and has kept its verdict reserved. The law provides for seeking consent of the person on whom polygraph test will be conducted.

Notably, the Twin City Commissionerate Police had arrested the notorious Dhalasamanta brothers on January 28 from a rented house in Pokhariput area in the Odisha capital.

Following the duo’s arrest, police conducted raids at various locations including their residence at CDA Sector 6 where police seized huge dump of arms and ammunition, cash, laptop, mobile phones, diaries and other documents.

Police had seized one .9mm carbine gun, one double-barrel gun and four .9mm mousers and 150 rounds of ammunition and cash of over Rs 2.67 crore from the searches conducted in their houses at Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

On Tuesday Twin City Police Commissioner Y B Khurania informed at press meet in Bhubaneswar that notorious Dhalasamanta brothers (D-brothers)-Sushant Dhalasamanta and Sushil Dhalasamanta have confessed during interrogations to have murdered their associates Deepak Mallick alias Dipu and Om Swain alias Om.
