Sources said the Council of Ministers has approved a supplementary budget proposal of Rs 10,233 crore. The proposal is more than double of last year’s supplementary budget and emphasis has been laid on agriculture and allied sectors, sources added.

Sources revealed that Rs 1,300 crore has been earmarked for agriculture alone in the supplementary budget proposal approved by the Council of Ministers.

Moreover, the state government has made provisions in the supplementary budget to continue to run eight schemes like Backward Regions Grant Fund (BRGF) and Integrated Action Plan (IAP), the sources further revealed.

The Centre has stopped funding of these programmes, which the state government plans to run from its own resources.
