The Khordha Chief Judicial Magistrate Court (CJM) court today sentenced four persons, including Khordha municipality deputy chairman Sanjay Singh, to seven years of imprisonment in connection with a house torching case in 2013.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on them.

Notably, a house was set on fire at Gurujanga in Khordha in 2013.

One Mamina Singh had lodged a complaint with Khordha police alleging involvement of Sanjay Singh, Saroj Singh, Hazari Singh, Jitendra Singh, Jayakrushna Mohapatra and Sarbeswar Mohapatra in the incident.

Adjudicating the case, the CJM court acquitted Jayakrushna and Sarbeswar while awarding 7 years of jail term to the rest.
