Odisha court refuses bail to Sarathi Baba

The Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court here today rejected the bail plea of disgraced self-proclaimed Odisha godman Srimad Sarathi Baba alias Santosh Raul in a case related to outraging the modesty of a woman filed against him.

Sarathi Baba was brought from Choudwar circle jail by the Crime Branch police amid tight security and produced before the SDJM court here.

While his counsel moved the court for his bail, the court rejected the plea.

“A case (GR Case no. 1062/2015) has been registered against him and he has been charged under sections 120B, 354, 506, 420 & 34 of the IPC. The SDJM court has rejected his bail petition,” said Sanjay Jena, public prosecutor speaking to reporters outside the court here.
