Odisha: Covid negative test result mandatory for hostel inmates of Utkal University

Bhubaneswar: The Covid negative test result is mandatory for hostel inmates of Utkal University. This was informed by the University’s Vice Chancellor Sabita Acharya today during a preparatory meeting ahead of reopening of the educational institution from January 11 here.

The inmates will be allowed to stay in the varsity hostels after producing the negative result of a Covid test done three days prior to their arrival. In case any hostel inmate does not carry the Covid negative test result, the concerned student will undergo a coronavirus test at the test camps set up on premises of the varsity, the Vice Chancellor stated.

The test of the varsity hostel inmates will be done free of cost, she added.

Also, Acharya said the Utkal University campus will be sanitised before the reopening of the varsity. Classroom learning will be imparted to the varsity students while adhering to the Covid guidelines.

Earlier, the Odisha government directed all Colleges and Universities in the State to reopen from January 11 while following the Covid guidelines.
