Odisha: Curfew lifted in Kendrapara town; Sec 144 in force

Kendrapara: The district administration today lifted curfew as the situation improved after holding a discussion with the peace committee.

The curfew was lifted at 6.00 am.

As per the decision, the educational institutions will remain open in Kendrapara town.

However, Section 144 will remain in force to avoid any untoward incident.

Yesterday, the district administration had clamped curfew in the town following a group clash. District Sub-Collector Sanjay Kumar Mishra imposed the curfew till Friday morning.

Earlier in the day, Section 144 was imposed in the town following the group clash that erupted during Netaji Jayanti celebration at Kendrapara Govt. High School Ground.
