Odisha: Devotees take holy dip at Chandrabhaga on Magha Saptami

Konark: Today is Magha Saptami. Lakhs of devotees thronged Konark to take holy dip at Chandrabhaga sea and offered prayer to Lord Sun on the auspicious occasion early in the morning.

As per Hindu belief system, by taking dip in the sea and holy rivers and offering morning prayer to Lord Sun on Magha Saptami, one can earn virtues of many lifetimes.

In view of the occasion, the district administration had made all arrangements for smooth conduct of rituals.

As many as 30 platoons of police forces, NDRF, ODRAF and Fire services personnel have been deployed to ensure safety and security of devotees at the sea beach.
