Odisha: Dist Collectors directed to stay alert for possible flood

Bhubaneswar: In view of the heavy rainfall forecast in Odisha due to a low pressure area over Bay of Bengal, Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Bishnupada Sethi has directed all the District Collectors to stay alert in order to tackle any possible flood situation.

In a letter to all the district administrators, the SRC asked them to remain prepared to meet any possible flood/water logging situation in their respective districts.

This apart, the field functionaries have been instructed to remain present at their respective headquarters and respond to emergency situations.

The SRC also directed all District Emergency Operation Centres to function round the clock.

“Adverse situation, if any, may be promptly reported to State Emergency Operation Centre in the Office of the Special Relief Commissioner,” the official said in the letter.
