Sudeep Satpathy, Associate Professor of Physiology in Odisha’s KIMS has been selected as sports medicine doctor for 2016 Rio Olympics.

It is said that, he is the first doctor from Odisha to join Olympics.

Dr. Satpathy has been selected by the Olympic authority on the basis of his performance and experience in the field of sports medicine.

He completed his MBBS from VSS Medical College in Burla and Diploma in Sports Medicine from International Olympic Committee.

He is also a Member of the prestigious faculty of sports and exercise medicine, Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians in Ireland. He was also the team doctor of the Sachin Tendulkar owned Kerala Blasters FC in the Indian Super League 2015.

Congratulating Satpathy for his success, KIIT & KISS founder Achyuta Samanta termed him “a jewel of Odisha”.
