Odisha Elections 2019: Congress candidate Mala Madhi served notice

Malkangiri: Malkangiri Sub-Collector today served a showcause notice to Congress MLA candidate Mala Madhi for taking out a party procession without permission.

Sources said that Madhi had not taken permission from the poll authorities for a procession.

He allegedly took out the party procession while heading to the office of sub-collector for filing his nomination to contest the Assembly Elections 2019.

However, Madhi tendered his apology to the Sub-Collector for the rally.

Replying to the showcause notice dated March 18, he said, “The previous day of my filing of nomination was holiday i.e Sunday for which I could not apply for permission for rally during filing of my nomination.”

He clarified that he had used 300 motor cycles, 20 Boleros and one mike set during his rally and he undertook to show all the expenditures incurred by him during his nomination in the election expenditure account.

The poll candidate made it clear that not submitting the application before one day for rally permission was not intentional.

He assured that he will not commit such mistake in future.
