Odisha elections 2019: Dama’s daughter quits BJD, likely to join BJP

Bhubaneswar: Two days after former BJD leader Damodar Rout joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), his daughter Pritinanda Routray has resigned from Biju Janata Dal (BJD).

Routray – a former Corporator of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation from Ward No 6 – tendered her resignation to the party supremo today.

Sources close to the development said she is likely to follow her father’s footsteps and join the saffron party.

With Odisha going to simultaneous elections in four phases beginning April 11, politicians cutting across party lines are switching loyalties giving major headaches to the leading political parties in the state.
