Odisha emerging as manufacturing hub in South Asia: Naveen

Bhubaneswar:  Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said his government is working relentlessly to make the State as a manufacturing hub of South Asia.

He also said Odisha is one of the fastest growing economies in the country as it has been growing at a higher rate than the national average.

“The state has witnessed more than three-fold increase in per capita income during last 17 years. Industrial development is a core component contributing to this fast growth of the state. We are ceaselessly working towards further developing the State into a manufacturing hub of South Asia,” said Patnaik while addressing the fourth edition of Odisha Roundtable Conclave being organised by Business Standard.

The CM said that Odisha has been consistently ranked amongst the top three states in terms of live manufacturing investments in India.

The State government, according Patnaik, has been a leader in leveraging IT to make it business to set up and operate and has recently introduced the first of its kind Single Window Felicitation and Tracking GO Swift portal for the industries. This portal, Patnaik said will provide all required services and support to an investor during the entire life cycle of a project in a time bound, hassle free paperless and transparent manner.

Explaining about the initiatives his government has taken in this regard, Patnaik said: “As we target higher growth and rapid industrial development, our mantra for development has been the 3 Ts that is Transparency, Technology and Team work. Focusing on this mantra, my government has taken several proactive measures towards creation of a conducive for industrial development in the State.”

The CM further claimed that the flagship initiative Make in Odisha 2016 Conclave was an overwhelming success as out of 124 intents received during the conclave 75 proposals are at various stages of implementation.

He invited all the stake holders to participate the next edition of Make in Odisha Conclave to be organized from November 11 to 15, 2018. “The government of Odisha is committed to provide all the requisite support and facilitation to achieve faster industrial growth in the state,” Patnaik added.
