Odisha engg student arrested in murder case

Bhubaneswar, July 16:

After a month-long manhunt, the Commissionerate Police arrested one of the accused for allegedly killing a young liquor shop salesman at Aiginia on the outskirts of the Odisha capital late on June 18 night.

The arrested accused was an engineering student, said police sources without revealing his name.

“He is a B Tech student of a college in Jatni and his father is an engineer in Koraput,” a senior police officer said, adding the student is in police custody and is being interrogated by a team to ascertain the whereabouts of the other two accused involved in the murder case who are still at large.

Notably, one of the three assailants who had came in a car on June 18 night gunned down the salesman Rakesh Kumar Sahu (25) as he was not able to produce change for Rs 1000 given by them to get alcohol.
