Odisha engineer attacked over works contract

Phulbani: An engineer working at the Public Works Department (PWD) was allegedly attacked by some miscreants at his official residence on Saturday night.

The victim was identified as Saroj Kumar Padhi, an Assistant Engineer of PWD posted in Phulbani district.

An FIR has been lodged in this connection at Phulbani Town Police Station. He alleged that he was attacked over some issues related to works contract.

According to reports, ten drunk miscreants barged into Padhi’s official residence last night and started beating him up. They vandalised the furniture and home appliances including TV and laptop.

In his FIR, he alleged that the miscreants also took away Rs 30,000 cash from him.

Following the complaint, the Phulbani Town police started an investigation into the incident.
