Odisha: Family quarrel takes ugly turn as two youth hack uncle, cousin to death

Bargarh: Family dispute took an ugly turn in a village under Bargarh Town Police Station when two youth hacked their uncle and his son to death. In the attack, daughter-in-law of their uncle has been critically injured.

Following the incident, the police have arrested one of the accused while another one was absconding till filing of this report.
Deba Sindhiria and his two brothers from Runia village under Bargarh Town Police Station along with their family members had gone to Godabhaga village to attend a marriage function. Due to some reason family members of Deba Sindhiria had an argument with the family of one of the two other brothers during the marriage function.

With an intervention of other attendees, the families of the two brothers were pacified. Families of the three brothers then returned home as per their own arrangement by the evening.

But when family members of Deba Sindhiria were alighting from an auto-rickshaw, his nephews Amil and Kamil attacked them with sharp weapons. While Deba died on the spot, his son Ratan succumbed to injuries at the hospital.

Deba’s daughter-in-law Sukanti, who was critically injured, has been undergoing treatment.

The police reached the spot after being informed. One of the accused, Amil surrendered before the police whereas Kamil is still at large.
