Odisha: First swine flu case of the season detected

Bhubaneswar: First swine flu case of this season in Odisha was reported yesterday as a 23-year-old woman from Nachuni area in Khordha district tested positive for H1N1.

Reliable sources said, the woman has been admitted to a private hospital near Khandagiri here and undergoing treatment.

She initially complained of cough and cold, following which her swab sample was sent to Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) here, which confirmed H1N1 infection.

On the other hand, her family members have been asked to undergo tests.

It may be recalled here that more than 50 people had died and close to 400 persons tested positive for H1N1 in the state last year.
