Odisha: Former Aska MLA joins BJP

Bhubaneswar: Former Aska MLA Saroj Kumar Padhy today joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the party’s state headquarters here.

This apart, former member of Odisha Women Commission, Tilottama Nayak was also inducted into the saffron party in the presence of party leader Dharmendra Pradhan and BJP State President Basanta Kumar Panda at the ‘Mishrana Parba’.

The ex-legislator had successfully contested the 2004 Assembly Elections from Aska constituency as an independent candidate by defeating Congress’ Prasanta Chandra Swain by a margin of mere 1345 votes.
