Odisha: Former OCA Secretary Ashirbad Behera gets bail

Cuttack: In a huge sigh of relief for former Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) secretary Ashirbad Behera, the Orissa High Court today granted him conditional bail.

The bail was granted against two sureties of Rs 1.5 lakh each. The court has directed Behera to submit his passport, not to influence witnesses and cooperate in the investigation process.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had on September 19 arrested Behera on the basis of a non-bailable warrant over his alleged complicity in the Artha Tatwa Group chit fund scam.

He was later taken to the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar on September 23 as he complained of loose motion and then shifted to the SCB Medical and Hospital here. He was undergoing treatment at the hospital since then.
