Odisha: Four Maoists apprehended while putting up poll boycott posters

Raighar: Four Maoists belonging to the banned CPI (Maoist) of Sita Nadi Area Committee of Chhattisgarh were apprehended by Odisha police during wee hours today in Nabarangpur district.

The cops nabbed the Maoists while they were putting up posters urging people to boycott ensuing polls in the state. They were spotted by the patrolling party at around 4.30 am today near Kusumpur square under Raighar police limits.

The CPI (M), through the posters and banners, urged people to boycott upcoming polls and criticized the policies of the government.

The members of the outlawed group have been identified as Pila Ram Netam, Eswarilal Netam, Tikesh Netam, and Sanjay Netam. They all belong to Joratarei village under Dhamtari district in Chhattisgarh.

Posters, banners and two motorcycles have been seized from their possession.

The four have been arrested under section 120 (B), 121, 121-A, 506, 34 of IPC RW Section 16 (B), 18, 20 of UAP Act.
